:: Bob the Builder ::

Bob the builder is doing his thing. Getting the patio done all by himself.

He had this idea of putting the bricks together from his Abang Long's house in Tanjung Pahang. Abang Long has a nice off-white and green philipino-grass blended together and made his front yard look superb. And my hubby took the idea and applied it to our front yard. So this is how it looks like for half way through. Its almost finish. It took him weeks to fit all these blocks of bricks. Its like putting up jigzaw puzzles.

I love this spanish revival look house. Open concepts of front yard. I wish I could apply this kinda front/backyard but its not suitable to our Malaysian culture as we've always been visited by an uninvited animals to our yard. So we hafta "build walls instead of bridges" to avoid these animals.

:: Address Plaque ::

Cantik kan?

We've been looking at every nook and cranny for these. If anyone knows, do inform us. I dig the banner type, but I dont think it matches our house style. Plus it could be tad pricey.

Babah asked our neighbour to fix him something as most of our neighbours has put up an address plaque on the wall of their gate. Kinda neat but yet so simple. I need something that would enhance the beauty of the gate... (macam nak showing off aje kan hahaha).

Sebenarnya the reason why we wanna have the plaque being put up at our house is because, until today, I dont think the mailman knows where Lot 9, Lorong Putra 2/11 is. The only bill that arrived in our mailbox was the TNB's. Sah la mailman tak jumpa cari.

:: Why Wynd Rush? ::

Good question.

We (my husband and I) bicker about naming our house. So that it may sound significant yet trendy. I'd like an english touch to the name but he would wanna go traditional. He came up with 'Rumah Hijau' but that sounds like a school sports group. Then he thought of translating it to english. Green House. That doesnt quite kena as green house means a house with plants in it.

Its been a yearnow, we still havent come out with a name yet.

But I do like WyndRush (read wind rush). Its just fit the house. The wind blows quite strong in that area with no house surrounding ours it brings a cool breeze during the day. And the sound of the wind hitting our sliding door.... I tell you... Its kinda creepy at times.

And so, still pujuk-ing my hubby to name the house Wynd Rush instead of Green House... blegh!

.: The House [Vol.2] :.

Plan 1

Plan 2

We were contemplating between these two plans actually.

I'd love to have the second plan but the build up area of our land cannot accommodate such design. So I succumbed to the idea of the first plan (after our draughtsman re-draw the first plan to suit our land).

.: The House :.

the blue print

We decided to build our own house instead of living in a terrace house. But only after 14 years we manage to occupy the house that we live in now.

The construction only took us 10 months to complete. And after 2 months battles with the TNB we finally moved in.

It was on the 1st Ramadhan 1429H we spent our first night there.
